Does anyone keep these species or have further info on
feeding, max size, temparment, cost of purchase. :?:

My LFS has what appears to be a S.frontosus for $19.99
is this a good price? As this fish seems rare asI have never
seen it before.

I currently own a 8 in eupterus.
He does not seem to be a strong eater although he is fairly
stocky, any advice on feeding. He mouths alot of foods,
(hakari carnivore pellets, ect.) then spits them out. :?:

Also do these cats have smaller sticking spines on the inside of their pectoral fins? As when I was removeing mine from the bag, I handeled him as any other catfish i have ever handled, with his dorsal and pectoral fins in between my fingers as not to get stuck.
As I was removinghim he slowly clamped his pectoral fin in towards his body and stuck me with what felt like a little spines on the inside of his pectoral fin.
It hurt badly with a burning sensation lasting 10 or 15 mins
andit created a small pun. wound on the top of my finger. :?: :?:

Is their a specific website that one can purchase African cat that you guys may know about?

Any info would be appreciated.

Check here for more info on S. eupterus.

The pectoral spines are indeed armed with small serrations (teeth) on the inner face.

As for a decent place to get African cats, try Toyin Ojo of Rehoboth Aquatics (http://www.rehobothaquatics.com).
