Here are out local wholesaler's prices in California, add 20- 100% markup to figure out retail:
Gold nugget-L18 MD $16.80
Goldy peacock-L14 MD $40.00
Goldy peacock-L14 XL $104.00
Xingu tiger pleco-L15 LG $20.00
Royal-brkn strp-L191 MD $16.80
The MD are around 3-4" I saw several today. They apparently had a 12" Royal L191 that went for $100. I met a guy who was trying hard to get it first.
I picked up a 5" royal and about a 3" Xingu today.

Re: L14 - whats a good price ?
I've considered gettting one of these, but I'm pretty sure my tank is a bit small.Pillarcatz wrote:Hi Guys

The price I was given by my shop was "Not much change out of 50 quid for a 4 inch one", so it's a question of whether a 6" one is worth almost double of a 4" one... As I understand it, they do grow fairly quickly, so you may want to just get a smaller specimen and grow it yourself.
I'm pretty sure that the Goldfish Bowl had some at that sort of size when I bought my tank from them. Not sure what the price was at the time, but I don't think it wasn't quite a hundred each. Give them a call and see [you don't have to buy when asking for a price

I've pretty much decided NOT to get L14's, as the do grow a litte bit on the big side for a RIO 400 tank (5' x 1'8" x 2')...

Do you have plants in there? I kept a goldy with my discus in a 110 gallon, but it kept knocking down my plants (unintentionally, not to eat them).Pillarcatz wrote:Thanks - i'll give them a call.
we have a 6ft x 2 ft x 2 ft tank with Discus
so i thinks a nice goldie will fit in well - lots of bogwood to live in etc....

That's true about any large pleco. Plants will be moved/pulled out/knocked over, because they just fancy going somewhere the plant is in the way of...ClayT101 wrote: Do you have plants in there?
