My Barbie's Spawn

Hi all
My Barbatus spawned for the first time this morning :lol: . It's only took them 10 month's, ive took the egg's out of the tank and done as the sticky said but has any1 got any helpful tip's?

Are the eggs in a small tank or container with an air stone? Once the eggs have hatched, it takes about 4 days, wait until the yolk sacks dissolve before you start feeding the fry. In my experience with barbatus newly hatched brine shrimp works well. You will be able to see the stomachs of the fry turn pink in color. One tip I learned from famous fish breeder Rosario LaCorte is to add a little crushed coral to the fry tank to prevent the pH from crashing. Some people use snails in the rearing tank to eat the excess food. Best of luck.

yes the egg's are in a ice cream tub floating in the main tank with a air stone, the egg's where laid yesterday and they hav'nt turned white so i guess they are fertilised :lol: . I'll try and get sum pic's posted later 2day,

just an update guy's, the egg's hatched yesterday and i have about 12 wriggler's.

Wow! I've never seen a Barbie, except in a book. They've always impressed me. Can you take some pics yet?
