Hey i am new to these forums buti have a problem. Recently my emerald cory has been acting erratic but i didnt think much of it until today when i got a close look at him. The left side of his face is basically a big hole. I had been fighting with white spot but i though that i finally got rid it. Is this some sort of parasite or disease? The big hole isnt white around it or anything it looks almost natural except for a little redness in its center. Please help. Also i just bought him about a week ago if that helps any.

Temp- 80 F
P.H- 7.2
Nitrite- 0
Ammonia- 0

I will try to get a picture if i can

Well i dont blame you guys for not knowing what it is because it is really really wierd, I was hoping though that mabey you could at least give me some advice on treating an open flesh wound. I am currently treating with Melafix and he seems totally fine but i dont know how a big chunk of his face will affect him, not in a good way i would assume :(

Ok, one thing you didn't mention in your original post is the Nitrate level. You have good ammonia and nitrite levels, but Nitrate can still be high. It should be less than 20 ppm, preferrably around or less than 10 ppm.
