just realised i have bought 2 gibbies, one albin (aka yellow red eyed plecostomus as named in animates) and a red spot plecostomus. didn't realise they are both same catfish just different colours. fish still in animates, due to pick them up tomorrow, both juveniles. worried because have read these fish are violent towards own species. will have them in a 3 foot catfish tank with loads of rocks and driftwood, and a gold nugget, and later move my bristlenose in there. the red spots were all in a tank together in animates, looked peaceful enough there. i love both of them. do you think they will be alright in the same tank?

Since they're juveniles, they may well be compatible if they're raised up together. All you can do is wait and see. But they grow fast and you will need a bigger tank in a couple of years.

I really think that your aquarum is too small for one Gibby, let alone 2.

thanks guys. i'm actually intending on getting a 6 foot tank when these guys get bigger, don't worry. this is just the first tank, also good to practise setting up the substrate/rocks/driftwood etc.
