I havent seen mine eat for months either. I have a striped and a spotted. They have both wedged themselves between a piece of slate and the side of the tank, ones belly is usually pressed against the glass. Id swear they never leave except for that the do switch places now and then. I believe its my striped that is the cause of some small tetras disappearing in the middle of the night. Feed a few shrimp pellets before you go to bed, they will probably be out at night and find them.
But Ive been thinking about this recently. Both of mine used to come out more when the tank was set up differently. Im beginning to believe that they will come out more often if they can more easily get in and out of their hiding spots. Im going to move some stuff around to see if they will be more willing to leave their hiding spots. Im going to try to rearrange things and add some dark places to hide to see if maybe they will show themselves more often.

you could raise some brine shrimp or bloodworms.my pictus love bloodworms when they are in the gravel just under the surface
because they have to hunt over the surface for them :D :D

Mind you, these species love to hide and don't worry, they'll eat when you are sound asleep.
Don't be afraid they'll die, because they simply won't.
With fish like these you should get uneasy when they show up in daylight, swimming up and down without any special purpose. As long as that isn't happening, you and your Raphaels are doing fine.

yeah. I have a bogwood tunnel that he wedged himself in. HE is like upside down in the roof of the tunnel. I dont think it is hard for him to get out. He is just anti social.
