I (our LFS) can get hold of Leptodoras linnelli at a fairly good price. Maybe they will end up in one of my own tanks (not many of our customers are catfish-crazy, and if they are, they are only after the L-numbers with the brightest colours). I'm wondering if they are totally nocturnal or if they are somewhat active during the day too? What i've heard, some of the Hasar sp. are almost like Corydoras in behaviour. Are Leptodoras sensitive? They kind of look a little fragile, not your average Agamyxis - battle tank .

To my knowledge, Leptodoras are fish found in the deeper and faster-flowing parts of larger rivers where there is a sandy substrate.

This would mean that yes, they are not like your run-of-the-mill Platydoras or Agamyxis.

I have a group of six Hassar wilderi. They are very active especially during feeding. Many years ago I had a few Leptodoras linnelli and they exhibited similar behavior both being active during the day. I did not find them sensitive though good water quality is important.

I currently have one he came into my lfs as a contaminent. He schools with my hassar notospilus, I find that he isn't sensitive or fragile, water quality should be well maintained. he shares space with my S.Decorus and s.batensoda. he and the rest of my hassars are not overly shy they do like a place to rest in the shade, preferably with a good view of the rest of the tank and room they do prefer to school. I would recommend them and would also recommend you purchase as many as you can afford and house. Enjoy.
