Dwarf petricolas are the only ones readily available as fry in the hobby, as far as I know. I'd think it's a safe bet they're dwarves. They grow slow, but are definitely well worth the wait!

There are 3 species of Tanganyikan Syno's bred regular in the hobby; hybrids not counting.

These are dwarfs alright.

petricola's because they have that nice white dorsal spine; the polli white has a black dorsal spine with a white tip and the multipunctatus has a black dorsal spine without a white tip and black pectoral spines as well (at least as a baby).

true petricola's (I breed petri's from Burundi) are very slim and have many spots, even as a baby; and they have very small spots compared to these.

It was a feeble attempt at humor too early in the AM, obviously ;) Don't mind me!
