You should get that pic added to the cat-e-log.

Nice fish.

Yeah, got any more pics you'd like "enshrined" in the cat-elog? This is a real nice looking fish and it's a breath of fresh air to see an unusual, nice looking Syno that isn't a hybrid!

2. Eye color
Almost all the Rift Lake Synodontis species have coppery eyes, so if you spot a Synodontis without the typical large-spotted pattern of many Rift Lake species, but with coppery eyes, you may be looking at a hybrid again. There are a (very) few riverine Synodontis species with coppery eyes, so eye color is a strong indicator, but by no means a completely reliable one, that you are dealing with a hybrid.
S. koensis has coppery eyes.Which other Synos have coppery coloured eyes?

Can only speak from my experience/the fishes i have:
S.decorus
S.cf.nigriventris
S.greshoffi
S.obesus
S.pleurops
S.sp. (8) (a spotted riverine species)
...almost all...maybe i misinterpret copperyness but to me these eyes are brown/coppery.

I'll try to get a better pic and add it to the cat-e-log (how exactly do i add it?). He's kinda shy though so it may take a few days.
