Restocking my 10 gallon!

I am thinking of restocking my 10 gallon tank when my fish die. (They are live bearers so they will not live very long.) I am thinking of:
2 bristle nose catfish (5cm)
6 black neons
1 Betta (Siamese fighting fish)
Will this be ok? I have an AquaClear 150 and an air pump running on it.
Thanks so much!

how powerfull is that pump??wouldnt the surface movement annoy the siamese fighter??? and dont bristle nose cats grow quite large??
you could do:
3 clown loach
6 neon tetra
3 upside down cats
1 white spotted talking catfish
How about that

Unfortunately both of those tank suggestions would be overstocked.
Clown Loaches need tanks on the order of hundreds of gallons. Neither three UDCs nor Agamyxis pectinifrons would do well long term in a 10 gallon.
As for the BNs, I do agree that they would not fit well in a 10 gallon. I do not trust any sort of tetra with a Betta in small quarters because of the possibility of fin-nipping.
I will suggest that you turn down the flow from the filter and place a Betta and a small shoal of cories in there.

would this work:
2 pimelodus pictus
4 krib

Unfortunately not. A pair of Kribs could dominate the bottom of a 29 gallon tank. A single Pictus could easily need a 50-70 gallon tank and would eat the Kribs.

how about:
5 leopard danio
8 tiger barbs
2 pyjama catfish OR 4corydoras

That's probably too much as well...the Tigers should be in at least a 15-20 gallon tank for that many and the Leopards would probably do best in a larger shoal, which, with their active swimming, would probably be best in a 20 long.
I will have to ask you to define your terms on the "Pyjama Catfish" as there are at least two species which have been given that name.

ok, how about........
3 ottos,
10 black neon tetras
3 apistogrammas.
any more than that, and you will run into problems.

Three apistos in a 10 gallon is too many...and if you get a breeding pair, what will happen to the third one in a tank smaller than 30 gallons?
10 tetras of any type is also too many for a 10 gallon.

OH a 10!!!
i had a 20 in my head for some reason
even so, i've kept 3 breeding apistos in a 20 with no problems. it can go either way though. depends on lots of factors.
in a 10 you are very limited to what you can keep.
how about just 2 apistos. a nice pair.

Well, then even one is probably too much for a 10 gallon.

i've got a pair of A.agassizii in a 10 at the moment.
what's wrong with that?
they're very happy, and spawned just last week.

Sorry, was replying to the post prior to yours...I meant that one Pyjama Cat was too much for a 10...breeding pair of apistos in ten is fine.

Everyone else has had a go so I might as well!
I'd stick with having 6 black neons and keep an Otocinclus affinis too. It'd appreciate a bit of current. With some bog wood and some Amazon plants that'd hopefully be OK stocking-wise and would have a nice theme too.
Just my

ence though.

i don't want apistos or any type of cichlid. I know bristle nsoe hget to 15cm but at the moment mine are only 5cm. i will move them if they get a problem.
