and would fit in the syno community very well .

I was planning a trip to Frankfurt, Germany, to get some synos and other african catfishes but now maybe I have to change my plan and come to England. But anyway it's not going to happen this year, too busy. And I have to finish my 1570l tank before I can take more fishes. Now I should get S. clarias, S. alberti, S. pleurops, S. greshoffii, S. rebeli, S. batesii and some Parauchenoglanis spp. and Chrysichtys spp. in few weeks so that's enough for rest of this year .

contractus, pleurops and flavitaeniatus are also very rare. as in; count the times I've seen them in LFs in 34 years on 1 hand and have fingers to spare

I think it was Wheatley that had a whole tank of Alberti & they were about £5.50 each - in the UK it has always been around & not too scarce - same for "Flavis" but they are so much cheaper now to the 80's I have seen these for £7.95 & in tanks of large numbers - so looking as if commercially bred but genuine. Pleurops disappeared for a long while but has surfaced in 2 or 3 stores recently. Contractus are about once in a while & i've seen it at 2 different stores this week. Sid - i wish i could sent you a group of Alberti - thay are much overlooked but are stunning when adult, almost like a pim with their long barbels.

Still no sign of one, even at a major UK wholesaler visit yesterday I checked every tank corner, every pipe/cave & the sump tanks & believe me there were many, with loads of assorted synos but we do seem to be fighting a losing battle with this one......

Firstly, the latest batch of F1 baby Syno Granulosa - the smallest being 6mm!!!!! Quite amazingly they are already starting to resemble adults at even this size (white barbels, fin edges but there is a light patch either side on the flanks on the otherwise dark body). I asked if they could geta photo for us?

Other synos - acanthomias, pleurops, congica, notata, schoutedeni, soloni, nigriventris, contracta, camelopardalis, flavitaeniata, multipunctata, petricola, alberti, decora, euptera, H. membranaceous, M. batesi & a multitude of varieties of hybrids including previously unseen varieties such as "White tip".
