Hey, Bernardo! Welcome, welcome!!! Well, you live alongside of so many exotic fish people pay big $$$ here to own. Would you pay big $$$ for native North American catfishes? Are they exotic to you? Does exotic mean attractive in your perception?

Just curious :)

Hi Sergey,

It's not often we see a Russian. You're most welcome aboard!

In answer to your frustration, you go to the species page in the catelog section and click on the "add species" link. Let us know if you're still stuck.

I think there is a lot of people from Russia and CIS around. Most of them won’t or cannot cross line of lurkers and just watch around. Grate place! There is so many useful information and positive experience on your site. I’m impressed of detailed reports and photos of rare catfish breeding and its fry growing.

Seryoga, dobro pozhalovat', offitsial'no (?) (welcome, officially)! Belarussian greetings but from the shores of Lake Ontario, NY, USA.

I am not a pleco man, but maybe this ? http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/sp ... cies_id=49

My first days at this site were riddled with problems and wrecked brain trying to understand how things flow around here. Yet, when you get used to things, it's a super-duper site for catfish lovers.
Jools wrote:Hi Sergey, It's not often we see a Russian.
Maybe, Jools, you should visit Russia :) ........ at the same time, collect a small wels for your collection (i know, i know what you mean, but could not help a small poke...)

I think this might be due to the fact English used to be quite uncommon in Russia. Due to politics

Technically, what is printed on the keyboard keys themselves doesn't matter [other than making it much easier to find out what key gives you what letter]. But most languages/countries have their own keyboard, whether it is Russian/Cyrillic, or Swedish (which has å, ä, ö and their capital equivalents). If you use mixed languages, you can set a PC (or Linux and probably Mac) to have different "keymaps", which means that depending on what the setting is, you get either Russian or for example English letter.

If we going to continue down this fun but slippery slope, we'll get reprimanded by Jools and reminded what this forum is for (see above). Sergey, we will have to become more familiar with each other at some other forum or some other way... like the "Speak easy" forum?

Sorry for flood. I think it is not necessary to open separate branch, private mails is enough. We are here for discussion of our hobby and it is don’t have nationality or location specifics. Lets have a fun and talk each other without such concerns :foggie:
