stuby wrote: 13 Sep 2023, 15:55 A couple more got kicked out. I will more some L397's out of a fry saver and use for the L82's later today.... till them a jar with an air stone will work. The L397's egg sacks are just about gone anyways so works out well.

Take care,
Chuck

Congratulations, Chuck that is super exciting for sure

Thank you. I will keep updating on their progress. Here are a couple pictures of them today and the tank I have them in..... nothing special. A good amount of wood, rocks, caves, and places to hide. Fry saver is one I made.... I don't like the store bought ones I have seen, so I made some.

Take care,
Chuck

Day 15 update (from spawn). Male and female have been in and out of the cave with no more eggs so far. Pictures of some of the fry.

Chuck

Day 30 (from spawn) update. Had a problem with a heater and lost most of them before I figured out what was going on. But the remaining fry are doing well. Feeding a mix of pellets, Daphnia mona, and algae. They also enjoy the oak leaves I have in with them.

Take care,
Chuck

Sorry for the loss. I hate when things go wrong and I don't recognize it quickly.

Fry look good though!

Thanks Eric!

I ordered new thermometers and put in most of the tanks I have heaters in... I am a little paranoid now and check temps every time I go in the fish room! At least some survived and I can be happy with that at.

Take care,
Chuck

Thank you.

They are doing good. Growing fast and last I checked about 1 1/8" SL (1 3/8" TL).

Hey you ever get any L368 moon plecos.? I am about to buy two of them. To be honest the pictures have them looking dam near identical to my L082. They are listed as a separate species though. I have L82 and L014. So I figure why not try and get a third of the 7 species in the genus.. So many black with white spots plecos out there. Every major genus has one.
But yeah any opinions of the differences either physically or in keeping L082 vs L368 are appreciated.

I don't mean to hijack. I just see that the folks in this conversation are the people I need to ask these questions.
You all seem like the real deal.

I see the L368's for sale and thought about getting a group of them too...... but I don't have the extra space so they will have to wait till I do. L82 has a thicker tail compared to L368 and a more cigar shaped body.

Not the best picture but shows the body shape well enough.

Take care,
