My favourite cat has to be Felix domesticus. At present, I have only one, a nine year old called Little Fish. She gets insanely jelous when I talk to my other little fish.

My favourite loricariid is probably L204. In fact,I'm going to log off now and go watch them...

My favorite would have to be my synodontis angelicus :D . Has been since I got my first catfish book. Had mine for more than a year and it is always out to feed and it never hurts any of my other cats.

Cheers, CatBrat.

Synodontis decorus. Have had it since 1980 and it's 12". Before it moved from a 75 to a 180 in 1999 it would actually let me pet it when I did weekly water changes.

Easy, the brown bullhead. I grew up catching and keeping these fish, I cannot say the same about any other species. I am also a fan of other members of the bullhead family as well as Pims and Clarias.

I'd have to go with a specific species

Black Lancer cats very sleek fish and are doing well for me :)

and a group

Bullhead (i like all species of N american cats but those in particular)

I like all catfish though, big, small, pretty, ugly i like them. But those get my interest a bit faster than others.

Of the ones I have owned/do own:

FAVORITE: Sailfin - but just mine in particular because he loves to be hand fed and he runs to the glass when I go by. :-) But my large spot guy (avatar) does the same thing - lots of character. Who ever says fish don't have personalities has never had a tank of fish! LOL

But for because they are just a cool lookin' fishie....I would have to say my Queen Arabesque - although the death issues with them makes me hate them

FAVORITE I WOULD LOVE TO OWN: Adonis by far! My LFS had 2 - but they let one of the flunkies at the store clean the tank, who forgot to turn on the filter AND heater - so the whole tank died (was full of discus). Now I have to wait until he gets more to get one.

Auchenipteridae in general.

Wish list top 3:
3: Asterophysus batrachus
2: Ageneiosus marmoratus
1: Tetranematichthys quadrifilis

Top 3 of available Auchenipteridae in the Netherlands:
3: Tatia perugiae
2: Tatia perugiae
1: Tatia perugiae

That says it all, doesn't it?

Realisticly? syno. eupterus. Especialy my two deformed ones. One of which will eat from my hand. Quite cool.

Wishlist:
-#1: Chrysichthys sianenna! preferably a group so I can breed them.
-#2: being able to save eggs when my granny's spawn again....soon the female will join the male again in the breeding tank, and I really hope to catch them in the act. third time lucky they say? they fooled me twice already.
#3: breeding Synodontis polli (the true one). I tried like everything and they just won't budge :( even conditioning S granulosus turned out easier than these. and they did spawn once! but everything fungused over. I like challenges, but this is teethbreaking work now for years.

On the other hand I can cross another fish of the list "still to be bred by me"; because my Lophiobagrus cyclurus babies are doing fine and growing slowly. they're now about 3 weeks old, on their own and eating artificial food. I've been breeding L brevispinis by the load, but cyclurus turned out a very hard nut to crack; due to their intense intraspecies agression. getting a pair to form, instead of the male ripping up the female wasn't easily done at all.
rewarding though

Red Tailed Cat, of the SA variety.

Still have not figured out how to house one, but I'm trying! Parents are not looking at a 8x8 indoor pond too fondly. I guess I will have to move out first. (plus- I can get a saint bernard then!)

I do like many of the cories, plecos (rubbernose types in particular- as well as goldies). NA natives/ bullheads are nice too, even if they too get depressingly big.

Couldnt agree more, the south american redtail get my vote!

Very closly folowed by north american bullhead cats.
Or my vulture cat, or is it my rusty jelly cat, or is it......

i havent owned many catfish so my choice is easier. still a hard choice between my corys and my bristlenoses.

if i have to choose it has to be my bristlenoses, for a few reasons. they stay small which is good when u dont have a massive tank, they do a great job at algae cleaning, mine have great personalities and arent the least bit affraid to be out and about during the daytime and finaly, they are that ugly they are beautifull. plus i am biased in that mine are the nicest ones i have ever seen with lovely light spots on a dark body :)
