So, we already have the symptom of "polls" that I was afraid of:
1. The poll show an answer that is different from what all the science says (Suckermouth and Racoll are spending their days in labs at universities studying fish, and I believe both agree).
2. Only three people have commented and said "Omnivore", but it's the "winning" option - why?

And I still haven't got your answer to what you think the liver study actually tells us about their diet. I'm curious what it actually tells us. Unfortunately, I can't read text that has 3 words out of every four in the conclusion that I need to look up.

sheldon wrote:If i might offer a simple reply to the question. I have a GNP (L81, & i do hope that doesn,t "muddy-the-waters" so to speak) & i feed him/her a mostly vegetable diet with upon occasion some "meatier" bits thrown-in, a ratio of about 3 to 1 respectively. My fish & i have now been together for about three & a half years, he/she has tripled in size in that time, each year the tank size is upgraded & each week he/she enjoys a 25% water change. I do hope this helps.
Thanks Sheldon I greatly appreciate your information, its exactly what I'd like to hear!

For Matsp's sake, any visitors that vote, please explain why you chose what you did and provide an experience or feeding ritual that you have found your pleco thriving with. please note - the poll does not represent scientific evidence but your explaination would be appreciated. I'm hoping majority of you got that initially, but for those who have not :- there it is for the record.

I could feed beefburgers to swans, so does that make them carnivores now?

I thought they went bonkers for the McDonalds sauce all over the burgers, but they could not lick the sauce off the burgers... Does this make them opportunist vegetarians? =))
