I am in the US and the issue is continuing;
I am in Washington state and using a server routed through Denver, CO.
I have received this message almost every time I have tried to access the site last night and today. I have included a screen shot of the error I receive.
I did note that the link to PlanetCatfish goes to a .ajax.cloudflare address before trying to go to planet catfish, I don’t know if this means anything. In fact as I was attempting to add this post, i received the message when i clicked on Preview.
Thank you.

Anyone having problems recently, we can blame that on a problem at DreamHost (where Planet Catfish "lives"). Although Cloudflare caches the content, it doesn't have ALL the content, since most pages contain content from the database (such as posts, my cats/auqarium/breeding, catelog content, articles, etc).

Faced the problem for the first time a few minutes ago. It appeared even when a link was clicked on repeatedly. Went away the third or fourth time.

I've had it couple of times in NZ, including once today. A couple of refreshes, and it went away.

Just got the error when trying to post in another thread, then another 4-5 times when trying to post this message. So now we've got it too.

Booted five times by the Clouflare bug while trying to post today. For longer postings I would highly recommend using a word-type program and then copy and paste it into the forum. I have "lost" three different postings this week to this bug.
After writing my post I hit "post" and it says "(Cloudflare) Website not configured for internet traffic" and the post is gone.

great tip

and i had to use it in the past as well; not often with PC,
but most often with Dutch fora that have a long history as being more buggy than a scarab-infested Egyptian mummy

Guys,

Depending on browser, the back button should work as long as it's the first thing you do after clicking submit. If you're really worried about it and using windows, type a post, press CTRL-A (highlights the post) and then CTRL-C (copies the post to the clipboard) before clicking submit. You can do this as often as you like while typing. Then, if you need to, CTRL-V will bring back what was copied into a blank text box.

The only disadvantage of this method (versus launching word) is that it will not help you with a power failure.

Cloudflare has massively improved our performance, bandwidth and CPU usage. It's also, magically, blocked 47 spammers, two botnet zombies and two suspected DDoS attacks. The latter have in the past downed the site for a little while for everyone. I've experienced the error code once in about a week of constant use of the site, so I know it might be painful for some at times, but it's helping more than hindering.

Bear in mind that the security side of cloudflare monitors your "behavior" on other sites. So, if you spam other sites, have a virus running or your computer or are generally leaving content in "bad places" on the internet, then you're not going to get on very well here!

I will continue to monitor it.

Cheers,

Jools

Jools,
This does not work. Yes, you can hit the back button. It will take you to the post editing page you were on (but your typed text will be gone). If you were smart enough to copy... you can paste your text back in, but then when you hit post it just goes back to the Cloudflare page. It is just a loop. You need to back out of the site, come back in, and start a second reply and hope you don't get the loop again.

I realize you would not be using it if you did not think it was advantageous.

You can usually go back to the previous page with the "back" button in the browser and then copy the content, and then paste it into a word-processor (or something like that) if you want to make sure you don't lose it.

Thanks for reporting Dave.

Yeah, so this is a different thing. The issue is actually that dreamhost (our hosting company) has had a major issue today (see lots of very unhappy people here: http://www.dreamhoststatus.com/2012/04/ ... atacenter/).

Out with my control I am afraid but progress can be monitored via that link.

Despite speeding up the site and blocking a lot of SPAM, it appears that our hosts availability isn't good enough to reap all the benefits of cloudflare and the "time to time" unavailability is too prevalent. A bit disappointing. I have switched off the feature and it will take about 48 hours to remove itself.

Killing me off, I can get on but when I try to post a reply it goes to the error page, I wonder if this post will make it through.....

Sorry Jools, I missed the 48 hours bit, this site keeps me sane on 12 hour shifts. At least I did get my post through.
