I've been putting oak leaves in my tank recently. Not enough to stain the water or anything but the fish like resting on them and picking at them.
I know a layer of leaves would be most beneficial but I do want to have my tank planted because it improves the water quality and also because I like the way it looks. So I'll continue to put leaves in but not a whole layer of them.
If the males pick on the females at that time, why don't they separate them at that time? Wouldn't that make sense rather than letting them kill each other???
