Pretty sure the Tatias are being offered by a friend of Steve's, although they came in on the same shipment. It may be difficult to sex fish in the heat of the auction but I'm sure the experts on hand will do their best!
Thanks Mark - have PM'd Steve anyway.

Thanks Mats, will do a bit of research and let you know if I plan anything that will work for you being there at the weekend.

Great fish!
I sure hope they are from that firm, on their stocklist there is the very same fish. Our LFS is probably ordering soon from that firm.

And they are not the only ones that may be interesting......

Or better yet (assuming it's not "secret") post it in this or a new thread? :d

I had a look at the list in the link above, and the web-site it refers to is no longer running. I expect that one to be from the 13th of November 2006 (judging by the long number in the middel of the URL - which could of course just be a random number).

Based on the limited info from the description of I. cahyensis, this could be I. laticeps.

That is the list I meant.
Don't know if it is up'-to-date either.

This is week number 45. You can't have it more up to date imo :icon-wink:

But actually I think he's going to get fishes from another exporter; if he's going to order.

Their site is now hidden behind some ^%#$^$# portal. You have to register first to be able to enter this (and many other) sites. Too bad, because some time ago you could visit the Peru Aquarium site directly and also see their pictures.
But no way I'm going to register.....

Just an update from my post of 11/11/10 11.24am, they are not L122s going to be on sale, they appear to be L349. They are a strange Ancistrus. When normally coloured up the spots/ovoids are light greenish, but when photographed and in darker surroundings, they are reddish!

how are the Trichomycterids doing?

and did anyone else from the forum took some too?

@ Sid...

I got 8, all doing well & housed with a dozen A.Claro 'fry' in a 'quarantine' set-up.

Shortly they will be moved to a permanent set up where half of the sand substrate is covered with a pile if fine beech twigs/branches, with a little java moss on & a couple of moss balls. (I'll probaly add some guppies/endlers as tankmates)

Steve sorted me out a mix of bigger & smaller ones from the ones he had which may help to contribute to a mixed sex group.

They appear very light shy (even at feeding) but unfussy as to what they eat - they are very energetic feeders as you said :YMAPPLAUSE:

I note that one of them has no spots but appears to be in perfect health although most seem spotted. Mostly they currently reside in cracks in a lump of bogwood or under flowerpots. I'll be able to check them this weekend when they move & will update with any relevant details

The 5 that my friend kept are doing fine, and it looks like Richard's are too which is great.

My group I picked up from Steve are doing great and eating like pigs at feeding time, spending most of the day in a slate cave with 1" pipes fitted only coming out for food or after lights out.

Glaser have today have them on the newsletter as Ituglanis metae which has already been ruled out of course Glaser could have some other species in but it is more than likely the same species than they have imported.

Hi Jamie

Good to hear they are doing well. I can't 100% rule out them being I. metae as that depends on Roy's other specimen being I. metae. Whichever one they are they are a nice fish.

@ Steve

Were they all similarly patterned? Half of mine seem unspotted being a matt golden olive, with the other half spotted as pictured. There appears to be both male & female of each & all are kept together.

I did witness two of the spotted ones fighting yesterday - quite vicious. one grabbed the other with it's mouth mid flank & twisted violently with the other trying to do the same, causing quite a little disturbance

Hi Richard

They all seemed similar although some were more intensely spotted than others. They didn't keep still long enough to get a good look though! lol

That's the first I've heard of them fighting. Could you post a pic of the ones with hardly ant spots?

I'll try & get a pic but i hardly see them except for feeding. They tank is 3/4 full of beech twigs on the base so i'll see if i can net one & transfer to a photo tank.

The fighting was over a tablet at feeding time & was between 2 spotted ones that i believe to be both males

I got myself 1 specimen of Ituglanis metae. Yes: Just 1. It was the only one the shop brought me after I placed an order there. In the future I hope to enlarge the group to about 5.

Hey This is my first time here. FYI I created a login just for this point!
I used to do a LOT of business with Peru aquarium group. I even went to Peru and visited with Carlos. He was a fun Guy. Then he dropped of the face of the planet.Full STOP. Two years later I was following a thread and found another Peru supplier with an Email address. I sent a letter inquiring about Carlos. Two days later I recieved an email stating that he had passed away. This is still unconfirmed but I suspect it to be true. Any comments welcome

I finally have a group of Ituglanis now!
I got 8 from OF aquaristik near Frankfurt.
Sidguppy, who was my companion, spotted them in a little tank.
I was and am very excited he did.
The ones I bought yesterday are a bit darker then the one I already have.
Here is a pic of the 'old' one:
