I read in a an article written by Shane somewhere that some guy named Doug Underwood (i think) had bred them.

Hmm..I thought Doug had spawned <i>P. nigrolineatus</i> and not <i>P. suttonorum</i>.

p. suttonorum is being bred in western australia. did'nt believe it until i saw it.
also being bred are liposarcus pardalis, liposarcus sp. (albino pleco), glyptoperichthys gibbiceps and some liposarcus sp. called the "chocolate pleco". looks like a color morph of liposarcus pardalis to me.
these fish are being bred in dirt ponds fed with water from a freshwater creek. apparently the conditions are to their liking because the adults are HUGE. this guy supplies the australian wholesalers with fish. except the suttonorum, they are not for sale until he increases his stock of adults: different bloodlines and all that...
he did offer me some babies, but i can't afford $5000aus for a 3inch fish...
it is actually illegal to import most sp. of loricardiid into australia, the wholesalers get away with selling them because they are locally bred. some legal loophole, i guess.
THOUSANDS of locariids are illegally smuggled in anyway...

hmm maybe i calculated wrong but he wants 2800â?¬ for a 3inch fish? Would be cheaper to fly to frankfurt and buy one for 100â?¬ and swallow it in a plastic bag.
