Just received my copy today and all I can say is WOW! A beautiful book that I look forward to digesting page by page.

I think there is legitimate doubt, whether the species Hemiancistrus arenarius, Chaetostomus bachi, Peckoltichthys filicaudatus and Hemiancistrus ucayalensis, here in the combinations, as they have been described originally, later correctly were re-identified. While only H. arenarius and H. ucayalensis originate from Peru (Rios Yurimaguas and Ucayali) C. bachi was described from Rio Jurua, and P. filicaudatus from Rio Solimoes, both from Brazil. I would say to get in this affair a final judgement, it needs more well detailed investigations.

I used Amazon.de; the link that Silurus gave.

BUT mine is the German version, mind!
I can read and speak German, so it's not difficult at all.

It's here:
Wels Altas 2

All the buttons are in the right place and color; so even if your German isn't perfect, ordering is exactly the same as from Amazon.co.uk

If in EU you can buy it on eBay for £28.52 delivered from http://search.stores.ebay.co.uk/aquaris ... 76QQsofpZ0

There's also a US seller that's offering them cheaper too but you'd have to wait a lot longer to get it delivered.

Does anyone know if Vol 1 has been translated into English yet? I see many images of the English cover around the web and suggestions that it would be released by the end of last year, but no evidence of the actual book.

My German friend has the original but there is a limit to his patience in translating pages on demand for me ;)

Buy it an amazon and donate to Planet at the same time!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ext ... .y=0&Go=Go

That's a point actually, we really should chnage the review over to a review of the english version.
