The fish sold as

Oh, ok.
[Edit]
This is the clue for the next fish:
[/edit]
There are Norwegian photos of this fish breeding. I first saw Dave Rinaldo's ones. And I haven't added mine to "My Cats yet". It's a fish with color, although when you first see them, you may not think so.

Right Mats, it`s a friend of mine, and she breeds them like rabbits

Those are not the ones, whatever they are (Farlowella?)

Ok, suppose to be Farlowella, if not, I sure would like to know what they are?

I didn't disagree, just wasn't 100% sure what they were.
But the fish in question is NOT a Loricariid!

I'm a bit confused by this conversation Mats, from where you correctly guessed farlowella vittatus onwards. I think Birger is too. Could you please clarify a bit?

If that is the case, Birger is way too late. I have edited my post a bit further up to indicate that the second paragraph is the clue for the next fish.
And it's NOT A LORICARIIDAE, ok?

Okay, I've scanned through a bunch of your recent posts and must have missed 'a recent fish that has not been added.' Saw all kind of pictures from Norway of breeding catfish but none of them were species owned by Dave R.
Can you take a moment to give us another clue?
Please?

Ok, the fish is from South America, and doesn't grow big. The picture isn't recently added either...

I _wish_ I had some of those, but no, not the one. My fish is in a bigger family.

Finally! I was thinking this was going to go on forever (and now I can add them to "My Cats").
Your turn, then...

I've got a funny feeling you maybe read the clues on page 1 of this thread and are trying to guess that fish?
We're on page one hundred and thirty some now ;) (But don't worry, you don't need to read the whole thread, unless you are a glutton for punishment!
More clues
ii) Theres some debate about whether my species name should end in "-a" or "-us". The literature & cat-e-log uses "us"
iii) I was described way back in 1898. Despite that, I have no registered keepers.

Nice try but.. no.
iv) I'm not from the Americas.
v) My specific name suggests I'm fat.
vi) You'd find me in rivers rather than lakes
