3) VW Beetle -> Bembidion velox?
5) browser -> Firefox -> Vulpes velox ?
Looking at the build of the fish, velox (fast/speedy) seems an appropriate name..(not so sure about the Vauxhall).
?
That's good reasoning! :thumbsup:

Vauxhall Velox was indeed the car with the correct name, so I take it you knew after clue 2?
The VW Beetle surprised me, for I was leading you towards the VW Fox. You got there via "our" browser anyway. From there a swift (velox) fox could be found. I was about to add a Suzuki car (Swift). No longer necessary.

Your turn!

I hadn't heard of a VW Fox.. I dimly recall that they still made Beetles in Brazil & Mexico until quite recently.

Anyway, new fish:

i) You may find me at 6000 feet.?!
ii) Add an 's' to my name and I turn into a mint.
iii) They say that where I come from it is eternally spring.
iv) I have no adipose fin
v) I am critically endangered (IUCN Red List)

Kunming "City of Eternal Spring", capital of Yunnan Province, China.
Lake Dian Elev. 6189' is badly polluted.
The cat-e-log refers to "Sea of Tien [Tien Chih]" & the IUCN Red List entry refers to "Lake Dianchi", but I'm fairly certain these names all refer to one and the same place.

Next! :D

New fish:

1) I share my species name with quite a few other (cat-)fishes
2) If you take the preference of the riddler into account, I'm not that hard to guess

Although vittatus is indeed common, this species name is even more common imo.
It's shared with a Callichthyidae, Doradidae and Ictaluridae (a.o.)

I really expected to have an easy one - but apparently I think along different lines then some - and that would explain why I was unable to answer earlier. The new one:

1 nobody keeps me
2 I share my name with a very popular fish
3 I like it salty

Obviously I was thinking about the Pangasius as a very popular fish on the dinner plate, not in the aquarium ;)

new fish!

* I am a pleco
* I was described by Castelnau
* I am a true winner! (slightly cryptic)

I'm a rarely seen flat pleco without spots, my patterning isn't too colourful but not really like anything else. I don't have head tentacles or a scientific name.
