Thanks nvcichlids! :D
But what a coincidence! :o I bought last saturday 6 Stiphodon sp. to place in the Aqua-60, instead of the Dwarfpuffers, I'll let them in the well planted aqua-65 so the Stiphodons has all the space in the new tank!

That is a coincidence, and what is an even bigger one, is we have the same species lol. I have 6 of those, and 6 of the ornatus(which are much smaller right now) I won't be able to post tonight, but will tomorrow for you.

And yours seem to be much larger, mine are around 1.5-1.75" tl

nvcichlids and londondragon, thanks for the kind reactions! :D

nvcichlids, i think i've two different Stiphodon species in the aqua-60tank, it's difficult to id the stiphodons by experts... :!: they could be elegans, rutilaureus etc. etc....only a dna test could id them! ha ha

The darker smaller stiphodon could be a different species, or a male just coming into his own. I would bet on a different species though, seeing the fins do not have the same markings. They look nice, I took a few more pics of mine (posted in another topic if you want to take a look.)

nvcichlids and arjen, thanks for the reactions! :D

nvcichlids, the aqua-60tank is 53x35x30cm, it's not a big tank, the fish looks huge but that's because of the macrophotograhy...i think...

I am jealous that yours are out more. Mine only come out in the morning and at night. Other than that, they are all hidden in their caves (presumably breeding  )

Thanks nvcichlids! :D
The Stiphodons are very bussy searching food on the plants and stones at day time, the dominant male had digged many holes under the stone.

That's very good to hear that your Stiphodons are in their caves with hopefully some eggs...

Stunning pics as always. I originally thought I had lost most of my gobies, then one night I flash light the tank and saw about 8 heads peaking out from under the same rock.

nvcichlids, you're right, at this time the big male is defending the eggs, wich are sticked on the leaf of the echinodorus.

andy, the L-021 is the favourite fish of the family. his name is translatted in english: sticker!

Richard, the Stipho's are difficult to identivy, so you've seen 4 or 5 differt sp.! i'm jealous!! :D

It's a shop that is quite local, but a hidden gem (in more ways than one). It is also championed by one of the regular feature writers in PFK.

If i get a chance over the weekend, i'll go back & record what sp they are - camera is however, not available :(
