 whoops sorry- been away this weekend (and I didn't think for a moment I'd be right!). Does anyone want to fill in with one this time, and I'll try to think of something if I ever get another one right (not too good at thinking of cryptic clues)?

Sorry guys 'n gals...

OK I'll try and do one, but don't expect anything cryptic...

I'm a largish loricariid from Brazil, but with no keepers listed on Planet catfish
I have an LDA number, despite being described over 150 years ago
My type locality is unknown

New fish...

For the 9th time, get off His back - if you can't get this "new fish" it's all greek to me!

?
(9th time = 9th hour = ix + hora, dorsal = back.. mumble.. jumble?)

Maybe... on the G. dorsalis page..." in reference to the distinct coloration of the nuchal plate." Nuchal =NEWchal?
OK, I'm reaching but the rest of your reasoning works for me.
I certainly looked and couldn't find a darn thing with 'ennea' in it.

What about ?
Less than 10 dorsal fin rays = 9, eques = horseman or rider and 'New fish', it would be for us but was described in 1876.

Greek word for nine, "The word Enneagram is of Greek origin and refers to a diagram with nine points or lines. "Enneagram" is the name of the system of knowledge ..."
Okay so I got my Mensa card from a gumball machine

From Wiki answers: Nine is 'enaia'.

I've been looking for something with nona in it, as nonane is an butane equivalent with nine carbons instead of four (I thought the numbering comes from Greek) but did not find any fish

Bas Pels:

From the Wiktionary: ennea - nine in greek.
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ennea-
Also from other internet sources and my dictionary.

It's pronounced like the singer Enya, would Richard B be that tricky?

I tried looking for things with noton - greek for back. No luck at finding that AND making a connection with '9 times.' Closest I came was . Still don't get the 9.

9 times = IX x,
hmm, now that just looks like fish scales to me so it must be time for bed..

9th & greek - iota
His starts with a capital so was relevant & noton=back.
"new fish" - it is a recent update & on the homepage of fish (not aquaria etc)

ET VOILA! Torbanite rules the roost!!!!! Well done

Pizzaro (the conquestador*) = lima
lima- refers to its exposed pre-maxillary tooth patch. braces? Haven't seen the show.

*other terms have been used...
