Hi Greg,
I moved your question/comment over to tank talk forum, maybe there's other beginner catfish people that could benefit from what we're learning/trying. I know there's an official way to move a thread but I'm new at that too! Called it "New tank thread move"

Glenny, I'm new to planted tanks but would like to try one. Is there much maintenance with the live plants. Did you start your tank and establish the plants growing before adding your catfish. Any tips you could give me just starting out with planted tanks. Thanks

Hello Greg, light, much light is the keyword for a healthy grow and CO2, but i use liqued CO2: Easycarbo, and Profito. The echinodorus will grow better if you put from time to time a tablet near the roots: irontablet and/or a claytablet will do.
But light is important, i build a second tl-unit in the rekord 60tank:

Hey Glennie, what kind of background are you using in your tank. Looks like some kind of tree bark.

Hello Greg, i use a black background from Juwel for the rio 240,aqua-40 and aqua-65 tanks, and a slimline background from back to nature for the rekord 60 tank:

Glennie, any trouble with the shrimp getting sucked up into the filters. How did you prevent this happening.

Matt,Andy and Greg, thanks for the reactions! :D

Greg, i've to resque from time to time small, young shrimps who where sucked up in the internal filter systems of the tanks, i had an external filter, eheim 2213, and i found also living shrimps at the bottom of the filter. But only little young shrimps like the cherry and rainbow's are sucked up, the Japonica's(Amanoshrimp) are strong and big to be sucked.

What types of gobies did you just post pics of? Are they South American? (I like the first one and the black and silvery one (what are they?))
