Today is the day... The wels makes me uneasy. It's a gamble either way you slice it, to my mind. The pros are that the wels is relatively docile, he doesn't like large items to swallow dead or alive, the pima are alert, they get a chance to grow in the big tank which may eliminate their desire to jump out eventually, they are easier and safer to move from tank to tank when they are smaller. The cons are of course the wels remains a concern, the pima may jump out still, the pima will interfere with the visitors hand feeding the koi and Co.

Hello Viktor, How are the arapima doing in the new tank?

Are you able to look up viewing statistics on individual planet catfish posts? I suspect you will get more views and possibly more YouTube views on those posts where you write interactive comments and explanations - like this post here, compared to your usual blind YouTube link. On my slow phone, my web browser often crashes as it tries loading up all the video links - possibly Planet Catfish speed limits too.

Additionally the brief title on each video isn't visible on a phone.

I'm hoping the damaged eye is improving? Hard knocks often cause drop eye that doesn't mend. I suggest you use a DIY koi sock (hand closed bottom end) instead of pillow case to move strong flighty fish. Or if you continue using a pillow case/strong clear plastic bag for netting then fashion a net frame from clothes hanger wire with removable clothes pegs. The frame to keep pillow mouth wide open. Also turning off lights will calm fish considerably. I know you need lights for your video recording. You could throw a lightweight scarf over the head on bigger fish just before netting if you need lights. I make a sleek smooth koi sock from black ripstop nylon material as I'm too stingy to buy one.

Just some constructive suggestions for you. It's very easy to comment from my armchair with hindsight.

Will you get more arapima soon? To catch up with these two. Perhaps putting them into the bigger pond much sooner? I suspect they are smart enough to keep out of harms way if there is sufficient space.

Thank you much for this Aquaholic. Late now. Will digest and reply tomorrow. The main thing the pima have been well in the 25K so far (per yesterday's video :) ).

Lando the midas had to be moved. I thought I'd tried him in the jerk tank. Initially, I was mostly concerned for the older jerks in the tank that Lando would attack and bully, but much to my ignorant surprise the female midas killed Lando (whom Lando had harassed before so they had to be separated) in half a day, assisted by Terrorist the purple labeo.
