Sold as L244, but I'm not sure...
Hi everybody,
A few weeks ago I bought a nice pleco in store. They told me it's name was , also known as L244.
When I look in the cat-e-log I see the fish there has a very light color, much more lighter than the one that's swimming in my tank. My fish has a grey/blueish color.
In store they told me the fish was caught in Colombia. They haven't told me the exact place.
Look at the pic's of my fish:
Can anybody tell me if I have L244, or a different species?
Already thanks very much!

could be a female!
only the males have those bristly pectoral spines.....
because that species is caught for that characteristic, quite often a shipment is only males
same with some batches of rare adult WC Ancistrus species; the catchers go for the ones with a bristled nose, hence only males are imported.

Your pictures look a bit similar to my fish, except that my one is a little bit darker. It has the feathery edge on it's frontal fins, but they are very small.
I think we have the same species, but I'm interested in the difference of colouring between the ones in the cat-log (yellow-brownish) and the species I have (dark grey)...
