L262

Post by peterK »

Hi

Has Hypancistrus sp. L262 ever been reproduced in captivity? If yes, where can I find any info about its breeding (in the internet)?
Are they shy (and like to hide) like L260 or more confident like L66?

Hi!

Yes it has been bred already, reproduction is like for any other Hypancistrus species...
You can check breeding accounts in the Shane's world section
You might also find some info on the cat elog

Cheers

There are full details in Evers & Seidels Wels Atlas II.

They're in German though.

I just look at the pictures :D

I'm trying to breed this sp. at the moment. I shall post info should I have any luck.

I find the females are not shy at all. Mine sit and feed at the front of the tank all day.

The males are a bit more secretive though, and only come out when food is on offer.

Thanks for answers!

Iâ??m going to keep one of Hypancistrus this year. It will be my second loricariid species, so I would like to keep easy and confident spec. My first, L104 was very shy and they â??dirtiedâ?? a lot, too lot for my filters... I have not got cash for L46, so I want L66 or L260 or L262 or L316... Iâ??m going to buy one of them in October.
