Panaque-Panaquolus & Peckoltia-Hemiancistrus
Hello all
Iâ??ve two questions about systematics to you.
1. Wich species of small Panaque can we put into Panaquolus genus?
2. Has Peckoltia sabaji and its similar species (for example L163, L147) been put into Hemiancistrus genus or we can still call them Peckoltia?
Greetings from Poland

Hi!
the dwarf Panaque species would include:
Panaque changae, Panaque albomaculatus, L02, L74, L169, L397, L398, L204, L206 Panaque maccus etc...
Armbruster has updated his website and now believe Peckoltia sabajii should better fit into Hemiancistrus but AFAIK this has not been publish in any work, it just show his belief, it will probably be officialise in a coming work!
Cheers

Thanks Yann!
In my country small Panaques (if they are in offer) are called Panaquolus. But I use systematics of planetcatfish.com and I think they will be still Panaque. What do you think?
I knew, I knew, that those Peckoltia are really Hemiancistrus! So Ancistomus genus is synonym of those Peckoltias?
Greets

Piotr,
Although still used by some European hobby publications,Panaqolus is no longer a valid genus and should not be used.
This should help.
