I feed mine slices of zuchini, and sometimes a piece of cantelope melon.

Feed them whenever you want, just don't over feed. I feed mine cucumber, zuchini, sweet potato, green beans, squash, sinking carnivore pellets, sinking shrimp pellets, cooked prawn and flake food. The high protein foods I don't feed that often as its not good for their digestive tract.

We don't really need two identically titled topics here, so I've combined them.

And I forgot to mention that I have a piece of driftwood in every tank that has bristlenose in it. I also feed several kinds of algae tablets and catfish pellets, most are vegetable based, one is a shrimp pellet.
