Albino common plec?

Post by MDoub »

A friend has this guy for sale $5. I'll admit I'm a little interested, but I want to know what it really it. He called it an albino common pleco. Any thoughts?

I see small specimens of these, called "Albino Chocolate Pleco", often.

Jools is looking for a pic of an adult.

Hey, thanks Dave!!! Very quick reply.

My hesitation is that I really don't have anywhere to put this guy except in with the frontosa. I think that's probably a bad idea..... Just not enough space. What do you think? This guy with some synos and a colony of Mpimbwe gibbs in a 125g?

Nice pleco... If I lived closer, I would surely go for it. Nice pic, BTW. :D

Best regards.

Daniel.

Dave,
This is the common amelanistic form of L. pardalis bred in SE Asia for the trade. I believe P. sp. 2 is a different naturally occuring sp.
