How do apple snails 'do it?'

I have two in my desktop tank and earlier today one was stuck on the side and the second one mounted up on top of it. Just as things were starting to get interesting, they toppled and rolled to the bottom.

I don't know if this was sexual activity, whether they're even male and female (as opposed to hermaphroditic) or whether there is internal fertilization. I could do a Google search, but I don't want to be caught looking at snail porn websites.

I have no idea how apple snails do it, but try here I am sure there will be an answer there.

Yes, that says they do copulate. There was some more torrid action today; maybe I should start an apple snail blog.
