Gossei or Seussi short-nose?

Post by rocketman25 »

Hello, I just purchased some catfish on Aquabid. They were listed as Seussi but they are probably Gossei. They are a good 3" plus in size. If anyone could, go to aquabid.com and under closed auctions they were listed as a Mix Box of Corydoras which i won(Rocketman).Type in auctions whithin the last 21 days to find them.Any info would help. I know Seussi have not yet been bred in the aquarium and I hear there is a short-nose form of Seussi. Thanks.

Madattiver, thank you for the pics. I tried to upload them but couldn't. Much appreciated. I also thought they were Gossei but at this size I thought it was still a good buy even though the 4 adult Sterbai I also got didn't survive during shipping.

They certainly look like C. gossei to me. There is a species or variation that appears to be somewhere between C. gossei and C. seussi, this one has been bred by Eric Bodrock from All Oddball Aquatics in Pittsburgh. C. seussi has also been bed under aquarium conditions.
