how many L with blue eyes?

hello,

I would like to know what types of plecos has blu eys I found this types :
Panaque cochliodon - blue eyed pluco
Hypostomus sp. (6) - Blue eyed Red Fin Pleco
L144

do you know any more?

There's certainly both Panaque cochliodon and Panaque suttonorum - both described with blue eyes, IIRC.

Shane's diary on "Venezuela" I think mentions the local fishermen knowing about blue-eyed fish in that area...

I think there may be more of them...

I don't think L144 is a blue-eyed species, it should have black eyes - the edge of the eyes may appear a little bit blue-tinted, but it's actually just a side-effect of being albino in my opinion...

I had some L144 fry (the Ancistrus Sp(3)fry ate them ? ) they had white eyes with black centres, maybe it changes when they get older.
Also the photo can change how colours appear .

Look at this lovely blue water in one of my tanks lol.
The water ofcourse is not blue but the wall at one end of the tank is, I took the photo from an upwards angle and the wall must have reflected off the waters surface by accident,even though its a photo mistake I liked the photo though.

The photos you've shown I would call the eyes WHITE, although they have a slight blue tinge. And I still think it's to do with the Xantic [thanks Barbie for correcting my sloppy language] variant.

And no, it's not medecin damage on those fishes.

There are possibly other blue-eyed plecos around.

ubgone - I haven't seen one of these in reality, so I am not sure what colour eyes they have.
I am only a beginner with catfish.

Based on what I see of the fish in the photo - it appears to have a blue tint to the eyes.
It also appears to have a blue tint showing on the inside of the nostril.
It also has blue tinting/wash on most of the rays on the ventral fin.
It has a lighter blue tint to some of the dorsal fin rays.
There is also a light blue wash running in the lighter coloured part of the tail.

Hopefully one of the members can confrim if this is how the wild species or a regional variation should look.
