Is there anyone out there trying to breed doradids.
I would really like to get into this idea but there is little or no information about it and habitat information is very minimal. Does anyone know about them? Has anyone had any succes either accidental or intentional? has anyone seen them in their natural habitat and could describe it? Any information would be greatfully apreciated.

Hi

I have kept numerous specimens and species over the years, and made some observations, I have seen some activity which may have been linked to spawning but unfortunately no eggs or offspring. I seem to recall that these catfish were being hormone induced in the Czech Republic 10+ years ago. I managed to bring home some Agamyxis pectinifrons and Platydoras costatus from Peru in July 2000, whilst there with Jools and others.

I wish you luck with your project.
