Caves for Breeding Plecos Is ABS O.K.?
Are black abs pipes O.K. for an aquarium? By O.K. I am referring to the leaching of chemicals. I'm talking about the type at Home Depot in the plumbing department?

If it's OK for "potable water" - something that will be marked on the pipe, it shouldn't have any dangerous leaching into water - potable water is the technical term for "drinking water". Same thing for PVC pipes. If they don't say clearly, ask a member of staff.
[Of course, I think non-potable pipe would be fine too, but it's NOT designed to take drinking water and may therefore contain some stuff that isn't healthy...]
In any case, make sure you soak it overnight to make sure any leaching goes into a bucket that you pour out, rather than into the tank.
