Strange question maybe??

Post by Ben Moore »

hi peoples.

As we know success with the breeding of some catfish requires a
smooth current into their cave.

Is it possible to use an internal power filter like an Otto and have it turned upside down? Will this affect the runnings of the filter?

I just wondered as Internal power filters were designed to be used upright.

Would like to hear your thoughts on this or if this is a better way.

regards
Ben

The only real difference is that the filter will not pick up dirt quite as well, and the disturbance of the surface water will be less.

However, there are small water pumps that you can use just for this purpose too... Eheim does a range of three different sized that just pump water, no filtration capabilities.
