L201?

Post by Rense »

what do you think this is? The owner bought it as a Hypancistrus inspector, L201, but it doesn't really look simular to the ones I can find on internet and the Cat-eLog.

ps. yeah, the spots are really orange, that was the first thing why I thought it's not L201.

I would say it's Hypancistrus inspector L201.

I have seen specimens with spots that colour.

I thought L201 was H.inspector proper. Is L201 caught from a different locality to the description of H.inspector then?

Hi!

Yes, also in the description of Armbruster, H. inspector reach a bigger adult size ~14cm TL, while L201 seems to grow up to 10cm TL!!
Also the picture of the Holotype show a black margin in the dorsal fin like what could be seen with L102!!!

Cheers
