ID my striped/spotted common pleco...

Post by Cawgee »

I bought this pleco about 4 months ago as a common pleco. At that time it was about 2 inches long. Now it is about 3.5 inches long. I just wanted to know exactly what it was and about how big it would get. Thanks

It's a Hypostomus, probably closest to this.

Checked all the pics under Hypostomus and these were the closest I could find to mine...

Can anyone confirm my suspicions?

Your fish is not a member of the H. cochliodon group. As I said, it's closer to the H. punctatus group.
