I found cukes to be very messy. They disintegrated in the water after about 12 hours. Zucchini seem to be more stable.

Feeding Pleco's

Post by plattygirl »

I agree that the cucumber makes a bit too much of a mess. Mine get a half zucchini sliced lengthways (allows for more than one fish to feed at a time) and i simply get a small flat river rock and use a rubber band to hold the zucchini onto the rock. Its simple and it works :D I think the apple idea is great so i'm gonna try them on that. I did get some sweet potato but when i cut it there seemed to be some white stuff (not a great description lol)ooze out of it so i didnt feed it to them? Does anyone know what the white stuff coming out of it might have been? I've also found that my butterflys(L168) and bn's prefer the inner core of the zucchini and the Clowns (L104)really seem to relish the outer skin, chewing little holes all over the skin.
Just a girl trying to make her way in the pleco world :-)
