I believe it to be a common Pl*co

Post by ta2mark »

Hi there I believe this to be a common pl*c but it hasnt grown any bigger than 8 inches.
It has stayed this size now for 1 1/2 years.
Any help with id would be gratefully appreciated and a max size would be great.

Definately a common.
What size tank do you have?
Common's can get to 24 inches if they have the proper diet, tank size, and water conditions.
I have one almost 18 inches long.
65 Gallon- Rhino Pleco,Common Pleco, unidentified syndontis, 2 red-flash sharks, 2 tin-foil barbs, 2 appolo sharks.
15 Gallon0 2 Phamtom tetra, 1 otto cat, 2 Penguin tetra 1 bristole nose pleco.

He's in a 300litre tank at the moment.
Going by Silurus's ID that he is a Liposarcus variety he should only be about 10 inches so he's not got far to go.
He love cucumber but doesnt seem to touch courgette.
Its the same with my clown loaches they love the cucumber but again wont touch the courgette.
He has algae wafers and sinking pellets and anything he can get hold of really.
He's even been known to eat the flake of the surface

I'm afraid the max size given in the catelog for Liposarcus pardalis is a little off. I have one that is just over 19 inches and still growing.
