Tigrinius tank size
Im thinking about getting a small tigrinius for my 75g and growing it out. I have a 125g that I could transfer it to eventually. How fast do they grow and at what size would you move it into something larger than a 125g.

The difference between a 125g and 75g in the size that the fish can be in the tank is pretty minimal - yes, you have a little more volume for dispersion of the waste-products from the fish, but ultimately, you only get another couple of inches of fish-size (at least if you go by the 4L x 2L x 2L).
If your 75 and 125 is sized according to this: http://www.all-glass.com/products/aquariums/large.shtml
the difference in size of fish you can keep is NONE, because the minimum size is the width (18"), which means that it's limited to a 9" fish.
On this site, a 120g tank is much better fit for a bigger fish, but only up to around 12"

If it grows to it's ultimate 20" size, it would need a tank that is around 80 x 40 x 40 inches, which gives a volume of 550 gallon, and it's almost certainly a custom build jobbie.
I'm not sure how quickly these grow, so I can't help on that.

Hi
I can't help you on the exact growth rate of the tigrinius but i have a Leiarius longibarbis and it grew around 6 inches in about 8-10 months. The tank mine is housed in is a 125g, a 5x2x2, but will require a larger tank reasonably soon.
Whatever you do make sure your going to be able to give it a larger home, like Mats said already, BEFORE you buy it.

those are some sweet lookin fish, I was thinking of getting one for my tank, but the guy at the LFS said it would run 300 to order one in... a wee bit to pricey for my recent graduation of college with all my bills, but a sweet lookin fish they are!
