If you live in the UK why not ask him for those fish?
I want a female, but I don't trust him to sex them. I don't want to drive to Bath to find out they're male, or the wrong species!
Are fish even allowed to be sold on ebay? I never see them seprately but I see some people selling them included in tanks.
Yes that's right. Here's what they say...
Live Animals
Live animals or pets other than the exceptions noted here, may not be listed on eBay. The sales of the following items are permitted, provided that the seller guarantees in the listing that the animals will be packaged safely and posted via next day delivery.
* Aquarium or pond fish, snails or similar creatures.
* Lobsters, crabs, shellfish and other similar creatures that are live when sold but intended for human consumption.
* Live insects, crickets and worms used as bait or feeder food for pets.

And completely and utterly stupid for catfish or any other bottom-living creature: 8 x 2 x 1 foot! So it's very long, whcih is great for smaller fish that need a bit of territorial space (like Rift Lake Sichlids).
I'd much rather have a tank that is 4 x 2 x 2 or 8 x 2 x 2 for that matter.
The oscar is 12" long on a width of 12" - not good in my standards...

I'm really surprised how well they look given that most of them can barely turn round, and the owner boasts that "water changes are few and far between".
