Anyone know what this one is?

Post by StringerBell »

Hey Everybody:

Just got a couple of these guys at my local fish warehouse - but they had no idea what they were.

My best guess is L86, but it doesn't look quite right (perhaps L115, L73, L107 as well). Looks like a Vampire (L7 or L29), but that's not quite right either...

Sorry for the bad pics...

Thanks. L240 is probably the closest fit (although, they do seem to have a couple spots at the edges of the fins).

hate to add to the confusion but it also looks like it could be a peppermint pleco.

but it also looks like it could be a peppermint pl*co.

Although the cat-elog link to P.nudiventris doesn't seem to work, the morphology of the fish is indicactive of a Leporancanthicus species.

In particular, the shape of the mouth and caudal fin indicate this.
