At what depths and type of current are Sterbai corys found in?

I believe they're from upper Rio Guaporé in Brazil. If you can find any info on that, then it might help to answer your question. I don't know, or I'd contribute more. I do know, however, that they are one of the corys who can tolerate warmer water, like say in Discus tanks, etc.

Sterbai tank

Post by kraatzy »

Hi, I am successfully spawning these little cuties at present and I have 6 together with 3 other cories in a 90 L tank. They don't mind the temp going up to 30C. The tank is heavily planted in one end with a 2cm layer of sand, they enjoy digging around the planted area and open area. I have a sponge filter in one end, 1 internal power filter blowing a strong current and a external power filter(Aquaflow). They are very active little guys.
