Banjo catfish

I have 2 tanks and i'm thinking of buying some banjo catfish. I have a 540l tank with plecos in it and the tempertature is 28 celsius, is that to high for banjos? I also want to know if there are some banjo specis that can stand that kind of heat?

Did you already check the Cat-eLog? They can be found under Aspredinidae.

The cat-eLog says that the temperature for Bunocephalus coracoideus (common banjo) is 20-27 C, but i have 28 C will it hurt em? The other banjo in the LFS is Pterobunocephalus dolichurus (ghoust banjo catfish) but it says nothing about the temperature need of this fish. Are these fish suitable for my tank?

ps. The other water walues are ok for banjos...

My tank is at 27, and my banjos seem fine. It often goes above 27, especially in the summer.

I think that your temperature should not be a problem for the common banjo (Bunocephalus).

what's more important however, is the provision of sand. they love to bury themselves in it.

Yes i have fine sand and lots of hiding places, but from what im heard they like to burry themself in sand (bad spelling). Does enybody have some information on ghost banjo catfish? Does the ghost banjo have the same recuirements as the common banjo?

Yes, that's correct. All you can see is their mouth.

Doesn't usually impress people when you "show them round" your aquarium!

I'm also thinking of getting a few Agamyxis pectinifrons or Amblydoras hancockii. My other (first was the info on ghost banjo) question is can i get MICROGLANIS POECILUS to my other tank, its 180 l (100cmx40cmx45cm). My main consern is thet it will harm other fish, I have heard that the fish can be aggressive. I have 5 L-260 (4 adults 1 juvenile), 8 emperor tetras, 6 corydas and 2 twig catfish. So does a bumblebee catfish (or two

) fit in to this tank?

Microglanis are not aggressive. At least not to fish that are too big for them to eat.

Yes, it's okay and no, there's no need to fear for your cories. Very few fish are as bold as to eat cories, and Microglanis certainly doesn't belong to that group.
