An L134 won't do much to control your algae.
Algae comes from to much light and/or nutrients left in the water. If you keep your light on less and do more frequent water changes, that will go along way as to controlling algae.
I think your best bet would be the bristlenose for controlling the algae. It might not seem like the most exotic choice but for algae its the way to go.

Ever considered what type of algae it was (I'm too lazy to scroll through the rest of the thread)? Loricariids, as far as I'm concerned, will only eat sizeable amounts of brown algae.
Furthermore, a loricariid will enver fully rid your tank of algae issues, you need to address the actual source of the stuff before you can eradicate it from your tank.
