I have received an e-mail notification that I have received a private message - clicked on the link but there is no message in the box - no idea why?

Did you read the pm before you checked your email? Sometimes, I find that the pm notification system is a little slow. Once or twice, I read my messages before getting the corresponding notification a couple hours later.

I also find this delayed notification sometimes, depending on whether I check my mail before or after logging onto the forum. Bit disappointing to think that I may be receiving some interesting and stimulating correspondence, only to find it's some nonsense from Fulla that I've already read.

OK, I had a pm delivered to me at about 4:40 pm today, which I read almost immediately after it was posted. Email notification of the pm didn't reach me until 7:10 pm.
Just an example that these things sometimes happen.
I think it's especially prone when you read the pm almost immediately upon receiving it (this is the second time in a similar situation it has happened for me).
