Hi

What is a good tank size to breed these in??
I was thinking of a 20 gallon tank.
How many should I used,if the 20 gallon a good size for them
Any info on breed them I would be very greatfull

HI!

Johannes Leueneberger was the first to spawn the L177 (might still even be the only one) (By the way Larry Vires has spawn L81 no L177...)

He had a tank size of 112gal. Male was 22cm long female 18cm
Water parameter 750 microsiemens ph 7.3 T°30°c

I would definitely say that a 20g tank is too small for a single L177, never mind a pair.

To be sexable, they need to be around 15 cm, 6" - even then, it's probably not easy, as both males and females are pretty "hairy", from what I've read.
