Sail fin and substrate

Post by Radius »

I was wondering if a sail fin (gibby) would be alright if I used pool filter sand as a substrate? It's generally 1 - 3mm in size and I want to use it in my new tank.

I would think that's fine. I don't know much about pool filter sand - is it natural sand or crushed rock? If it's crushed bigger stones, then it will have very sharp edges, which is generally bad for bottom-dwellers, but I wouldn't think that a would be severely affected - Corydoras spp. and other "diggers" would be much more sensitive.
